  • In this episode Lindy has a transparent and emotional conversation with her three sisters around the subject of the “extended family” around the brain injury of a family member.   • Lindy’s guest is Mark Desmond, director of High Hopes Head Injury Program in Tustin. Also joining Lindy is Valerie Caparino, talking about her husband Mel who incurred a brain injury after a heart attack.

  • Host Lindy Boone Michaelis talks with two therapists who work with her son Ryan in his recovery process. Janelle Robinson goes into detail of how she works with him as well as her specialty in hippo therapy (horse therapy); Julie Appell also talks about her work with Ryan and her specialty of hydro therapy in the pool.   • Daniel Ignacio, brain injury survivor shares his journey after a severe TBI from his early recovery to his continuing education and becoming a brain injury specialist and founding St. Jude’s Brain Injury Network.

  • Host Lindy Boone Michaelis talks with Doug Corbin and Mike Michaelis about their TBI story with son Ryan Corbin, his fall and early aftermath, the start of recovery and the reason behind founding Ryan’s Reach, a non-profit to support TBI survivors and their families.
